On 27 March 2020, Pope Francis delivered an extraordinary blessing to pray for the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the world’s media gave the event great resonance. In the past, when the successors of St Peter performed similar actions, the medals, the most important means of communication, had the task of emphasizing and celebrating these actions, in order to preserve their memory for posterity. This paper aims to show some examples.
