How to Get Access?
This page provides an overview of how to get access for both institutional administrators (first section) and individuals (second section, see below).
1. For institutional administrators...
Journal subscription options
Subscriptions are available in three formats: Print, Print & Online, or Online Only. All Brepols online journals, as well as journals distributed by Brepols on behalf of other publishers or research centers, are hosted on www.brepolsonline.net.
Institutions can subscribe for one year, choosing either Online Only or Print & Online options. Perpetual access is granted for the volume subscribed to. Each subscription also includes access to the last 10 years of backlist content, if available. This access ends when the subscription is cancelled.
Single issues (print) and single articles (online) are also available for purchase. Subscription prices can be found on our corporate website or downloaded here.
Perpetual access to Journal Archives
You can purchase complete archives (up to 2016) for most of our online journals. See our journal price list (above) for an overview of available archives and prices.
Single articles and chapters
Single journal articles and individual essays published in miscellany volumes can be purchased on a pay-per-view basis on this platform. The price for a journal article is €25 / US$30.00. The price for an essay published in a book is €29 / US$35.00. These prices exclude VAT and are subject to change without prior notice.
Books
Books are available to purchase directly through BrepolsOnline as eBooks. You will be able to download the PDF as soon as you have purchased it. Selected titles are also available in Full Text. For hard copy purchases (paperback and hardback), please contact our customer care department ([email protected]) or your usual book supplier. Private individuals are advised to purchase print titles directly through our webshop on the corporate website.
Collections
Brepols offers a range of Collections, including Journal Archives (see above), eBook Collections, and Thematic Collections. All Collections provide perpetual access and significant savings compared to purchasing individual journal subscriptions or eBooks. Collection purchases are a one-time payment, with no annual fees for continued access to the content.

2. For individual customers...
How can I purchase a book, book chapter, or journal article?
To purchase content, browse or search for the title you need. Click “Buy this Article", "Buy this e-Book" or "Buy this Content" next to the item. Add it to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express.
Do I need an account to buy content?
Yes, you need to create a free account to complete your purchase, and to access your purchased content later. Once payment is confirmed: Go to “My Account” → “My Purchases”. Download the PDF or access the content online.
Can I buy an entire journal issue or book?
For now, there are no separate prices for journal issues. These will be added later.
Can I enter a journal subscription or a standing order to a book series?
No, this is not possible via our website. Customers who want to enter a subscription or a standing order should contact our customer care department.
