Abstract

Abstract

The paper proposes a new interpretation for Giovanni Pascoli’s poem . The relation between this poem and others by the same author shows that the image of the rose, to which the poem is dedicated, hides a reference to Pascoli’s sister Ida. Influences from the Latin Anthology poems about the roses, particularly from the , are also considered.
