La ‘Rosa di macchia’ ed altre rose. Antecedenti tardolatini di un carme pascoliano

The paper proposes a new interpretation for Giovanni Pascoli’s poem Rosa di macchia. The relation between this poem and others by the same author shows that the image of the rose, to which the poem is dedicated, hides a reference to Pascoli’s sister Ida. Influences from the Latin Anthology poems about the roses, particularly from the De rosis nascentibus, are also considered.
