Abstract

In the article an unusual status of Hatshepsut’s daughter - Princess Neferure is analysed on the basis of various iconographic and epigraphic evidence. A thorough study of the princess’s iconography and titles containing some kingly and queenly elements reveals not only her unique position among the other king’s children of the New Kingdom but also some common traits with Hatshepsut herself. According to the author’s point of view, Hatshepsut promoting Neferura from early childhood as a representative of the female line in the royal family intended to use her own example in her daughter’s interests.
