Abstract

Due to the political changes in modern Palestine, especially with the establishment of the Palestinian Authority in 1994 under the Oslo Accords, it has become necessary to engage as many Palestinian archaeologists as possible in cultural heritage. In this atmosphere, the focal point of archaeological activity has dramatically shifted beyond a purely academic setting to encompass a wide range of critical involvements, areas in which the Palestinian archaeologists have been faced with numerous ethical challenges.
