Pouvoir et puissances chez Philon d’Alexandrie

Abstract

This collection of contributions focuses on the theme of power and divine powers in his work, with the latter constituting the limit of what human beings can know about God. In a vertical dimension, Philo never loses sight of these divine powers. The concept of power, however, also has a crucial horizontal dimension in human interaction and the political sphere, from the Egypt of the exodus, over Rome, to the Alexandria of Philo’s era.
