Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Ezra Pound’s interests in medieval literature date back to the years 1904-1905, when, after enrolling at Hamilton College in Clinton (New York), he attended the courses of William Pierce Shepard (1870-1948), professor of Romance languages. In the present article Carlo Pulsoni and Roberta Capelli present two new bio-bibliographical records in the framework of Pound’s philological training. Gathering from libraries and archives first-hand information and documentary data related to the composition of the troubadouresque poem (, 1909) and to the edition of Guido Cavalcanti’s poetry (, Genova, Marsano, 1931-IX), the authors demonstrate the methodological importance of preparatory work behind Pound’s creative practice.
