Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This paper shows that the title of Lucio Calpurnio Pisone Frugi’s work was undoubtedly ,,and . Infact, the term we read in Nonius is due to an oversight of the grammarian, who is known to be accustomed to a such behaviour. Regarding the term used by Plinius the Elder in 13,84 (= F 14 Cornell, F 11 Peter2, F 19 Forsythe e F 13 Chassignet), the words should be changed as , so that the term has to be referred to the books of Numa, which are quoted in the following text of Plinius, instead of to the work of Piso.
