Bishop Wilfrid is frequently credited with the conversion of Northumbria to the Roman practices for Easter. Stephen of Ripon’s followed by Bede’s are the main sources for his career. A recent collection of essays allows readers to assess claims expressed by Stephen for Wilfrid’s success.
