Abstract

Abstract

The Kantonsbibliothek of Frauenfeld (Canton Thurgau - Switzerland) holds a beautiful 15th-century manuscript containing two works by Niccolò Cusano: the rare text of the , dedicated to Pius II, and the . The codex was set up at the papal court and bears on the frontispiece the arms of the Venetian Paul II Barbo, pope from 1464 to 1471. The contribution attempts to reconstruct the journey that led it, perhaps via the library of Basel, to the library of the Carthusian monastery of Buxheim near Memmingen in Bavaria, and then, thanks perhaps to the routine book exchanges between these monastic institutions, to the library collection of the Carthusian monastery of Ittingen in north-eastern Switzerland.
