Abstract

This essay considers angelic song in - with its simultaneously corporeal and metaphysical qualities - as a heuristic for understanding the ethical repercussions of sonic phenomena in Langland’s poem. It suggests that ’s musical landscape includes a complex renegotiation of Rollean as communal praxis.
