Le Martyre de Crescens de Myre est conservé, de manière pas tout à fait complète, dans deux anciens manuscrits syriaques, qui font ici l’objet d’une édition et d’une traduction. Leur contenu est très différent de celui attesté par le texte grec du ménologe Patmos 254, publié par J. Wortley dans AB, 95 (1977), p. 241-246. Certaines similitudes existent dans la formulation avec la notice du Synaxaire de Constantinople sur le saint et suggèrent que le texte grec perdu derrière cette traduction syriaque a été la source de cette notice.

The expression intra cellulae suae claustra used by Gregory in the Dialogues II, 11, is certainly a quotation or a reminiscence of Cassian’s Institutions II, 14 (intra claustra cellae). The association of cella or cellula in the genitive with the noun claustra is not found before Cassian and Gregory is the first to use it.

This article examines the Nomina archangelorum, a text probably earlier than the end of the 8^th cent., in which seven archangels (Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, Uriel, Raguel, Barachiel and Pantasaron) are listed to whom one should turn in different vicissitudes of life on earth. The author examines the contents and compares them with the numerous contemporary incantations and prayers involving non-biblical angels and describes the diffusion of the text, which exists in four other redactions all later than that in the Cologne Cathedral Library of the 9-10^th cent., which was edited by Leclercq. The author examines the origin and destiny of their mysterious protagonist: archangel Pantasaron, perhaps of Jewish provenance, who at the moment is not attested in any earlier source than the Nomina.

The manuscript Istanbul, Halki, Holy Trinity 100 is an exceptional menologium for the whole year. Having been gnawed by mice during the 20^th cent., it is now in a pitiful state. The article begins with a precise description of what has survived. It retraces the history of the collection, its contents, and the loss of folia or their replacement elsewhere in the codex over the centuries. It contains the edition of three hagiographic fragments: the Passion of Phocas the Gardener (not listed in the BHG), the Passion of Severian of Sebaste (BHG 1626a), and the prologue of the Passion of Febronia of Nisibis (BHG 659). In an appendix Pierre Augustin publishes the description of the manuscript made by the erudite Englishman Samuel Slade in 1610.

Le présent article considère les Vies des saints italo-grecs Élie le Jeune et Élie le Spéléote dans le but de discerner les caractéristiques socio-politiques des groupes sociaux qui les vénéraient à l’époque byzantine et dans la première période normande. Les deux Vies, malgré leur rédaction assez proche sur les plans géographique et chronologique, présentent des différences marquantes en ce qui concerne le modèle de sainteté, le rapport à l’espace (l’une vante la stabilité, l’autre détaille les voyages du saint) et la représentation des relations socio-politiques. Selon l’A., le culte d’Élie le Jeune était une référence pour les élites locales urbaines, tandis que les communautés rurales vénéraient davantage Élie le Spéléote.
