Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The essay describes the complexity of the experience, both human and religious, of the priest from Brescia, who lived the years of Wold War I, from the trenches on the Isonzo to the concentration camps in Germany. His story can be considered as an example and a representation of the life at the front and during imprisonment of many other chaplains of the Italian army, also thanks to his memories, collected in a book, and other documents, though not many, of privates and officers who knew him.
