Dualismo platonismo gnosticismo nell’interpretazione inattuale di Ugo Bianchi

Il contributo si propone di mettere in luce il modo in cui le riflessioni di Ugo Bianchi sui rapporti tra dualismo platonico e dualismo gnostico rimangono utili per ritornare a studiare lo gnosticismo anche da un punto di vista di storia delle religioni. Negli ultimi vent’anni una corrente di studi oggi dominante ha infatti decostruito la categoria di gnosticismo, ritenendola una deviante interpretazione moderna in sostanza debitrice delle antiche classificazioni eresiologiche. Il modo in cui Bianchi ha affrontato la questione del dualismo gnostico è importante per contrastare questo tipo di interpretazioni perché aiuta a comprendere il ruolo centrale che questo tipo di dualismo ha nello sviluppo del mito gnostico, ruolo trascurato da molte delle più recenti interpretazioni. L’articolo prende in esame nella prima parte l’interpretazione di Bianchi, esaminando nella seconda il modo in cui essa è ancora oggi utile per una migliore comprensione del mito valentiniano.

The article attempts to shed light on the way the reflections of Ugo Bianchi on the relationship between Platonic dualism and the gnostic dualism remain useful to return to study the Gnosticism from the point of view of the history of religions. In the last twenty years a field of studies now dominant in fact deconstructed the category of Gnosticism, considering it a deviant modern interpretation essentially indebted to the ancient heresiological classifications. The way in which Bianchi has addressed the issue of the Gnostic dualism is important to counter this type of interpretation because it helps to understand the central role this type of dualism has in the development of the Gnostic myth, role overlooked by many of the most recent interpretations. In the first part, the article examines the interpretation of Bianchi, exploring in the second part the way in which it is still useful today for a better understanding of the Valentinian myth.
