Uno de los objetivos de la Filología Latina Medieval desde sus comienzos consiste en hacer accesibles las obras mediolatinas a través de la edición. Este objetivo ha sido cumplido en gran medida para la época anterior a 1200, pero el período 1200-1400 todavía no es suficientemente conocido. Dada la gran producción del período y nuestro interés creciente por textos no literarios, es necesario plantearse qué tipo de edición ha de ser utilizado con preferencia e incluso si la edición ha de seguir siendo el método favorecido. En este artículo abogo por la elaboración de repertorios detallados para un primer conocimiento de la producción de textos en su totalidad y por la coexistencia de distintos tipos de edición según las peculiaridades de cada texto.

From the beginning, one of the objectives of the Medieval Latin Philology has been the edition of Medieval Latin works, making them thus accessible. This objective has been reached to a great extent for the time before 1200, but the period 1200-1400 is not yet sufficiently well known. Because of the great text production in that time and our increasing interest for nonliterary texts, it is necessary to ask which type of edition should be preferably applied. And even more: whether edition has still to be the favoured method. In this paper I plead for the making of detailed repertories as a means of making known the complete range of texts, and I support the coexistence of different types of edition according to the peculiarities of each text.
