Abstract

Abstract

The paper focuses on the extant manuscript work of friar Alonso de laVeracruz (1507-1584), an important Spanish-Mexican author. Once an introduction to his life and production is made, attention is paid to the origins of his work that remained a manuscript because of the reasons expounded in the paper itself. Then the two manuscripts of the work are established and studied for the first time. Different references to a manuscript lacked elucidation on how many manuscripts existed; the only available manuscript had not been studied; and the finding of a second one, which was given to me for study, made me see that an individual study of them, as well as the subsequent collation of both texts was needed.
