Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The objective of this article is to examine the ruptures that occur in Henry Bauchau’s career. In this framework, we show that an interest to the writer’s reflexive comments and to the unpublished documents bequeathed by Henry Bauchau to UCLouvain in 2006 invites to nuance the thesis which assimilates the psychoanalysis carried out by Blanche Reverchon-Jouve (1947-1951) to the great rupture in the existence of the author, this being dependent on an auctorial construction. Thus, the ambition of this study is twofold. On the one hand, by recalling that Bauchau had a career as a Catholic activist in the years 1930-1940, it is a question of showing that psychoanalysis contributes to lifting the inhibition to write that had characterized his course until then. On the other hand, it is a question of highlighting the fact that the literary career of Henry Bauchau is discontinuous, because each publication constitutes a milestone through which the author progressively assumes himself as a writer.
