Abstract
The twin churches of Kastron Mefaa, excavated by the Swiss Foundation Van Berchem, both constructed in the 6th century, were not contemporary, nor did they have distinctive functions. The author concludes, that the two churches were constructed on adjacent plots by two different donors.
