Abstract

The article discusses briefly the typical codicological features of ninth-century manuscripts written in Greek: their shape, format, writing materials, physical composition, and preparation of the pages for writing. It concludes that all such features were inherited from Late Antiquity, and that few of them were regionally specific.

Après un bref examen des principaux traits physiques des manuscrits grecs du e siècle (formats, matériaux, composition des cahiers, préparation des pages pour l’écriture), on conclut que ces traits furent tous formés pendant l’Antiquité tardive. Dans le domaine grec, au e siècle, les différences locales à l’égard des traits codicologiques sont minces.
