Millenario e senso della storia in Rodolfo il Glabro, per una rilettura teologica del dibattito sulle paure dell'anno mille

L'articolo ripercorre i passi degli Historiarum libri di Rodolfo il Glabro in cui si fa riferimento al millenario dell'Incarnazione o della Passione di Cristo. Essi sono stati oggetto storicamente di interpretazioni diverse, che ne accentuavano o minimizzavano il significato millenarista; a partire poi dalla rilettura operata da Georges Duby ne L'an Mil e poi dall'ampia bibliografia rinnovata attorno all'anno duemila si è tentata una lettura più «culturale» degli stessi passi e dell'opera storica di Rodolfo in generale, pur permanendo i tentativi di considerarlo un autore millenarista. In questo quadro l'articolo tenta di dare un'interpretazione più strettamente teologica del presunto millenarismo di Rodolfo, riferendolo al suo orizzonte culturale, in base al quale la sfumatura escatologica dell'opera storiografica risponde ad obiettivi squisitamente teologici di ermeneutica cristiana del senso della storia.

The article retraces the steps of the Historiarum books by Rodulfus Glaber which referred to the millennial of the Incarnation or the Passion of Christ. They have historically been subject to different interpretations, which accentuated or minimized the Millenarian meaning; starting from the reinterpretation made by Georges Duby in L'an Mil and then from the extensive bibliography renewed around the year 2000, a more «cultural» reading of the same steps and of the historical work of Rodulfus in general has been attempted, whilst still endeavouring to consider him as a millenarian author. In this perspective, the article attempts to give a more theological interpretation of Rodulfus's presumed millennialism, referring to his cultural horizon, according to which the eschatological nuance of the historiographic work responds to exquisitely theological objectives of the sense of history's Christian hermeneutics.
