Le corpus des Panegyrici latini dans deux ouvrages récents

This survey article considers two recent publications dealing with the corpus of the Panegyrici Latini: a new edition with translation in Italian and an essay derived from an English PhD. Reading them provides a good opportunity for presenting a comprehensive overview of recent research on this famous collection. A major emphasis is put on the role of epidictic rhetoric and on the relationship between emperors and provincials as they appear in these speeches.
