Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This paper addresses anew the question of the connection between « la mélancolie » and Charles d’Orléans’ poetry. Following Starobinski, we may presume that this melancholy mood is not as much a character trait of the poet as one of the essential features of the duke’s poetic, one of the virtuous skills that will allow him to revive the courtly lyric poetry bequeathed to him.
