Cet article vise à proposer pour le mot hébreu ‘alliance’ une étymologie qui le rapprocherait du mot ‘créer’ puis à envisager quelle origine commune on pourrait leur attribuer. Dans les deux cas les hypothèses sont étayées par des parallélismes sémantiques.

Abstract

This article proposes for the Hebrew word ‘covenant’ an etymology making it akin to the word ‘create’ and then considers what origin could be assigned to both. In both cases the hypotheses are supported by semantic parallels.
