Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The authors here publish three new Qatabanic inscriptions on bronze from a Yemeni private collection. The first two inscriptions come from the ancient site of , today’s Warrāṣ Hajar (or Hajar Lajiya). The provenance of the third text is less certain due to its fragmentary nature; it could originate from the site of Ḥinū az-Zurayr, the ancient , situated in the wādī Ḥarīb, because of the mention of the deities ʿAmm dhū-and dhāt Raḥbān and of their sanctuary .

These new texts enrich the Qatabanic corpus both on the cultural level and in terms of the history of the kingdom of Qatabān. They also present some interesting lexical and formal features.
