Une nouvelle « stèle aux yeux » provenant du Yémen

Une stèle aux yeux funéraire qatabanite, provenant du marché des antiquités, présente des yeux stylisés en forme de fer à cheval, un motif rare. L’inscription mentionne un nom féminin et un clan qatabanite bien connu ; elle peut être datée du début de notre ère.

A funerary “eye-stele” of Qatabanite origin, from the antiques market, has eyes designed in horseshoe form, a rare feature. It belonged to a woman, a member of a well known clan; it can be dated to the beginning of the first century AD.
