Abstract

En la España medieval, tierra de frontera entre cristianos y musulmanes durante la reconquista, tuvieron lugar graves enfrentamientos armados, pero también una rica relación cultural, científica y religiosa, que proporcionó al mundo cristiano los medios para acceder al mejor conocimiento de la vida y la doctrina de Mahoma, desfiguradas en leyendas y tradiciones negativas e injuriosas. En España y tomando parte personajes hispanos se realizaron tres traducciones del árabe al latín de textos coránicos entre los que sobresale la traducción del Corán. Son las traducciones de Robert de Ketton, bajo el patrocinio de Pedro el Venerable (1143), la de Marcos de Toledo (1210), y la de Juan de Segobia (1456).

Abstract

Favoured by the manuscript copy of texts, the fact that a single work is transmitted in several versions is for a critical editor a headache, connected with aspects as different as the construction of a stemma codicum, the interpretation of the work, the study of its diffusion and the search of its sources, etc. To make it clearer, we propose to recapitulate the different problems by those seven questions: Quis, quid, ubi, quibus auxiliis, cur, quomodo, quando. In other words, who reshaped the work, what is the nature of the modification, which manuscripts transmit each version, do they use different sources, what is the goal of the change, how was it done, is it possible to order chronologically the versions? An example from a work by Hugh of Saint Victor († 1141) shows that studying the manuscript transmission helps to identify the author of each version, to date them and to understand why and how the author reshaped its own work.

Abstract

The development of the information society imposes a more and more analytical computational management of the data. In the linguistic field, lemmatization is the preliminary operation for this purpose. The Latin lemmatizer LEMLAT is able to perform such operation placing a form received in input alongside its corresponding lemma. The current needs of the web and, more generally speaking, of the recent technologies of information retrieval (e-learning, philological and linguistic search, summarization) require the development of the LEMLAT capacities. In this paper, the authors present a proposal for the development of the system, in view of a complete morphological analysis of the word forms of a Latin text.

Abstract

The Latin Grammarians archive in machine readable form represents a case study particularly interesting from different points of view. Firstly, in this article the historical aspects of the project are enphasized as they are related to the recodification of an archive memorised at the end of the 70’s towards a coding system to be operated by the new applications running on PCs. Data organisation is then described in detail in order to allow users to perform information retrieval operations important for historical linguistic research and analyses on the history of linguistic theories. Finally, this paper describes the specific functionalities and tools of the application realized to use the Latin Grammarians database on CD-ROM.

Dans l’introduction de la récente édition de Properce en traduction portugaise, quelques details sur la personnalité d’un premier traducteur, Aires de Gouveia, un homme de lettres de la fin du XIX.ème siècle, nous ayant échappé, nous sommes à même de les recupérer pour une notice plus documentée.
