Medieval and Modern Matters

The archaeology of the Middle Ages and the Modern Period in the Low Countries is flourishing more than ever. This new effort produces a wealth of evidence, new interpretations and interesting perspectives on themes of international interest, such as rural development, the rise of the town, material culture and European expansion overseas. The initiative was taken to create a new international journal on the archaeology of the Middle Ages and Modern Period in the Low Countries (Belgium and the Netherlands).
