Abstract

Abstract

The Teachings of Sylvanus, a text from the Nag Hammadi Library, suggests a pun between Greek and Egyptian on the concept of the logos tomeus (word as sharp as the edge of a sword). I want here to show that this concept, mostly developped by Philo of Alexandria, was used by the different cultures present in Roman Egypt.
