Abstract

Abstract

Gospel of Thomas 100 is a very condensed version of the question about paying tribute to Caesar, which is also known from the Synoptic Gospels. Yet instead of a (silver) denarius, this logion is about a piece of gold. This contribution deals with the numismatic realia in the background of logion 100, which should provide some indications for its historical context.
