Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study the main manuscript families of the by Menander Rhetor. The main conclusions are: (1) there is further “contamination” between the three families established by D. A. Russell and N. G. Wilson, for example between Z (first family) and pB (third family); (2) the (not studied by Russell and Wilson) do not always seem to derive from P, nor are their corrections to the text always « trivial », and (3) within the group of recentiores, a subset (C, R, H, Ma, K, a, Sc, E, b, G, o, L) appears to have an identity of its own, detached from the three “families” known so far.
