f Sul ms. Roma, Bibl. Vallicelliana, E 26 e sulla trasmissione manoscritta di Polemio Silvio: un nuovo testimone (poziore) per due sezioni del Latercvlvs

Il était déjà établi que le ms. Roma, Biblioteca Vallicelliana E 26 transmet les sections introductives sur lesquelles s’ouvre chaque mois dans le calendrier du Laterculus de Polemius Silvius, ainsi que le paragraphe d’introduction De anno. Un nouvel examen critique du manuscrit a maintenant révélé qu’il contient encore deux autres sections de cette oeuvre, à savoir les Nomina omnium principum Romanorum et le Breuiarium temporum. Cette découverte revêt une importance particulière en ce que notre connaissance de ces deux sections dépendaient jusqu’à présent du témoignage d’un codex unicus (Bruxelles, Bibl. Roy. 10615-10729). C’est pourquoi on propose également une nouvelle description du manuscrit de la Vallicelliana et une synthèse de son histoire.

The manuscript Roma, Biblioteca Vallicelliana E 26, was already known to contain the introductory section to each month and the prefatory paragraph De anno from Polemius Silvius’ Laterculus. Now, a new approach to the manuscript has revealed that two further sections from the Laterculus, namely the Nomina omnium principum Romanorum and the Breuiarium temporum, are also contained therein. This is an important finding for the study of the Laterculus, because so far just one manuscript (Bruxelles, Bibl. Roy. 10615-10729) was known to have preserved these two sections. For this reason, a new description and a concise history of the Vallicellian manuscript are also provided.
