L'article contient l'd'une collection gnomologique de l66 courts textes, où les passages bibliques et patristiques sont combinés avec des énoncés et des anecdotes attribués à des figures non chretiennes célèbres du passé, et arrangés en chapitres selon leur sujet. Les trois manuscrits connus du ont été examinés de facon à construire un et à produire un nombre significatif de variantes. Un apparat détaillé des sources et des temoins tente de retracer son origine et de documenter la tradition parallèle de la plupart des profanes. Cette publication vient s'ajouter aux exemples du genre byzantin des florilèges sacro-profanes.

Abstract

This is a critical of a middle-Byzantine gnomological collection of 166 short texts, in which Biblical and Patristic passages are combined with sayings and anecdotes, ascribed to famous non-Christian figures of the past, and arranged in chapters according to subject matter. The three known manuscript witnesses for have been processed philologically to yield a and a significant number of variant readings. A detailed apparatus of sources and testimonies attempts to trace the origin and to document the parallel tradition for most of the profane gnomae. This publication is an addition to the edited specimina of the peculiar Byzantine genre of sacro-profane florilegia.
