f De opusculis Prosperi excerpta huic operi inserere volui. Próspero de Aquitania en el Speculum maius de Vicente de Beauvais

Vincent de Beauvais conserve dans son Speculum historiale un florilège d’auteur consacré à Prosper d’Aquitaine, pour l’élaboration duquel il a sélectionné et modifié des extraits de deux de ses oeuvres, les Epigrammata et le Poema coniugis ad uxorem. Dans un second temps, Vincent opéra une sélection des excerpta conservés dans le florilège du Speculum historiale et les inséra selon un principe thématique dans les livres V et VI de son Speculum doctrinale. Par l’étude et l’édition du florilège de Prosper conservé dans le Speculum historiale et par l’analyse de ses relations avec le Speculum doctrinale, nous entendons reconstituer la méthodologie suivie par Vincent de Beauvais dans la réalisation du Speculum maius et contribuer à la connaissance du Fortleben de ces deux oeuvres de Prosper d’Aquitaine au bas Moyen Âge.

Vincent de Beauvais includes in his Speculum historiale a florilegium devoted to Prosper of Aquitaine, which he composed from a selection of modified extracts taken from two of Prosper’s works, the Epigrammata and the Poema conjugis ad uxorem. Later, Vincent took a selection of the excerpta in the florilegium in the Speculum historiale and inserted them thematically in books V and VI of his Speculum doctrinale. The study and edition of the florilegium of Prosper in the Speculum historiale and the analysis of its relationship with the Speculum doctrinale allows us to reconstitute Vincent’s methodology in composing the Speculum maius and contributes to our knowledge of the Fortleben of these two works by Prosper of Aquitaine in the later Middle Ages.
