Le manuscrit J.III.17. contient aux ff. 58ra-81va un long florilège exclusivement ambrosien sur le , qui est constitué de quatre-vingt-quatre extraits organisés en un prologue et quatre livres. Ce florilège conservé dans un manuscrit daté de la fin du e siècle ou du début du e siècle et copié en Émilie-Romagne descend d’un très probablement milanais, composé entre la fin de l’Antiquité et le début du haut Moyen Âge. L’extrait 28, qui porte sur Cant. 4, 1a, est un fragment inédit d’Ambroise.

Abstract

An anthology of the exegesis of Ambrose of Milan on the Song of the Songs is preserved in the manuscript Firenze, BNC, Conv. Soppr. J.III.17., ff. 58ra-81va. The anthology contains eighty-four extracts arranged in four books with a prologue. The manuscript, which was copied in Emilia-Romagna in the late eleventh or early twelfth century, descends from a probably composed in Milan between the end of Antiquity and the beginning of early Middle Ages. Excerpt 28 on Cant. 4 :1a is a previously unpublished text of Ambrose.
